16. Daniel A. HIMEBAUGH was born on 1 Jun 1839 in Lockport, Niagara County, NY. (40) He died on 15 Apr 1923 in Sturgis, St. Joseph County, MI. He was buried in Fry Cemetery, Bronson, Branch County, MI. (41) He was married to Emily FRY on 9 Apr 1864.

Daniel A. Himebaugh was the oldest of Michael and Sarah (Troyer) Himebaugh’s children; he was born in Lockport, Niagara County, New York on June 1, 1839 and came to Branch County with his parents in 1840 when only a few months old. He lived the life of a pioneer in ‘Dutch Settlement’ in his early years. In 1861, he was among the first volunteers to answer the call of duty, serving three and a half years with Company D, 1st Michigan Infantry during the civil war.

On April 9, 1864 he married Emily Fry. She was born on October 24, 1842 in Lockport, New York, the daughter of David and Elizabeth Fry. Emily was four years old when she came with her parents to Bronson Township. Daniel became a member of the Masonic Order in 1865, and a member of Hackett Post 185, G.A.R.

Emily gave birth to five children, Florence, Arthur, Frances, Myrta, and Amanda. She lived to the age of 76, passing away on July 27, 1919. Daniel died in Sturgis, Michigan on April 15, 1923, at the home of his oldest daughter, Mrs. E. P. Vreeland. He was sometimes called ‘Little Dan’, to distinguish him from his Uncle Daniel (1836-1915).

17. Emily FRY was born on 24 Oct 1842 in Lockport, Niagara County, NY.(42) She died on 27 Jul 1919 in Bronson Twp., Branch County, MI.(43) She was buried in Fry Cemetery, Bronson, Branch County, MI. (44) Children were:
